About
Alora Lynn Lafontaine (they/them) is a genre writer for games, animated and live action series, and comics. They specialize in complex character driven stories with high stakes, natural wit, and vulnerability.
They’re a member of the Writers Guild of Canada and winner of the 2022 YMA John Rooney Scriptwriters Fund. Their prose has been published in The Crow’s Quill literary magazine.

Prior to writing full-time, Alora worked for over 6 years as an Assistant Art Director/Illustrator with the Directors Guild of Canada and Scenic Painter with IATSE on shows like ‘American Gods’, ‘Mrs. America’, ‘Umbrella Academy, and ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.
A well-informed humanitarian lens is core to Alora’s storytelling. In 2015, they graduated on full scholarship with a BFA from Adelphi University’s Academic Honors College in the little-known city of New York. They won the Global Studies Scholarship to attend Bard’s Globalization and International Affairs program where they worked in Communications for the International Center for Transitional Justice.
Alora has called many cities home: Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Montreal, and Vancouver. In their free time, Alora GMs, practices Wu Xing Kung Fu, and learns just a little bit of too many languages at once.
